Moral issues with Pirating

Well I am currently faced with a moral dilemma i would like to hear opinions on.

I used to own legit copies of The elder scrolls Oblivion and Morrowind at one time however my Oblivion disk has since been worn out from over use to function any longer and my Morrowind discs are currently missing. My issue is that i am not in a great financial state at the moment and i also feel that i have already paid for the games so i can morally download them.

Morally I am against pirating (but i am no saint) but i feel that i am morally justified in downloading both games because i paid for them already. I will most likely buy the games again on steam where i can never loss them once i have the money for it because i like them so much but at the moment i do not have the money to start spending it on games like i did in the past. Its happened to me on multiple occasions that games i got did not work properly in which case i felt fully justified with downloading them however this issue which i had in the past is a bit more complicated.

An easy solution would be to get the games from a friend of mine but morally speaking whats the difference between doing that and downloading the games?

What do you think about this issue? What do you think about the pirating issue? I would first like to hear opinions on this dilemma as well as similar experiences but this discussion could also develop into one about the moral problems with pirating.

additional (i uninstalled both games so there is no option of cracking them... at some point i put too many mods on oblivion lol)
