Runners coming to race the St. Jude Latin Music Half Marathon are invited to donate shoes, T-shirts, socks and running shorts at the Health & Fitness Expo presented by Garmin on Saturday and Sunday for several upcoming shipments to the Wind River and Rosebud Native American reservations, Haiti and East Africa. Local high school student Josh Roberts will be on hand with other volunteers from One World Running, a Colorado-based nonprofit organization founded 26 years ago that distributes athletic equipment to youth and adults in need, in the U.S. and worldwide. Shoes of any kind are accepted, including baseball and soccer cleats. If feasible, shoes can be washed in hot water, bleach and detergent. Do not put them in the dryer. Shoes not suitable for shipment will be recycled.
